Orphax – Samen aan het water

I have uploaded a promotion/demo track to soundcloud called “Samen aan het water”. The track is from a collection that so far has not been released called “De Tragedie van een Liedjesschrijver Zonder Woorden”.
This collection of songs is from a hectic period in my life where I went through a lot of changes. All these songs were recorded during the last years of my study and the begin of my working days (2005 to 2007) and had some slight changes this year. Samen aan het water (together along the waterside) is one of the main pieces from this collection showing the hard times. There were also good times, maybe later another track showing those.

Orphax & The Village Orchestra live at McSorleys, Glasgow 19-08-07

During my vacation in Scotland in Augus, 2007 I did some live collaboration with my friend Ruaridh Law better known as The Village Orchestra / TVO.

He finally got around doing some mastering tricks to the piece and made it available for download. In the piece the first twentysomething minutes are my solo noodles, while after he jumps in and we play yet another fortysomething  minutes of drones and noises. Total duration is 1 hour and 7 minutes.

Go to http://ruaridh.marciablaine.com/?page_id=36 for downloading this recording and much more free downloads. Or if you just want to download this piece click on this link.

Live video: Orphax at ZXZW 2007

A short video of me doing my thing live at ZXZW 2007.The music you hear here was the first live performance of what later became the release Drowning in a pool of trees.

If you want to hear more of this just go to the releases page and check the EP drowning in a pool of trees.

Happy New Year

A new year has started and I thought it was about time to update this site a bit. The other one got old and boring and not as easy to update.

So here it is, the new and improved Orphax website.

There is about the same information as on the previous one, but all worked out better (at least I think so).

In the future more information will be added and probably some more pages (there on top).
