I have uploaded a promotion/demo track to soundcloud called “Samen aan het water”. The track is from a collection that so far has not been released called “De Tragedie van een Liedjesschrijver Zonder Woorden”.
This collection of songs is from a hectic period in my life where I went through a lot of changes. All these songs were recorded during the last years of my study and the begin of my working days (2005 to 2007) and had some slight changes this year. Samen aan het water (together along the waterside) is one of the main pieces from this collection showing the hard times. There were also good times, maybe later another track showing those.

March 20th live performance in Tilburg, NL

On Saturday March 20th I will be performing live with Chefkirk and Paddo One Obie One at Zwijsenpand in Tilburg.

The evening is organized by Vatican-Analog so you know you can expect experimental sounds from soft psychedelic drones to harsh walls of noise.

Orphax now also on SoundCloud

I have uploaded a few releases to SoundCloud to check out how it all works and, although it’s ugly, it seems to be an easy site. You can’t buy digital music there for now, but at least you can check things out.

Orphax & The Village Orchestra live at McSorleys, Glasgow 19-08-07

During my vacation in Scotland in Augus, 2007 I did some live collaboration with my friend Ruaridh Law better known as The Village Orchestra / TVO.

He finally got around doing some mastering tricks to the piece and made it available for download. In the piece the first twentysomething minutes are my solo noodles, while after he jumps in and we play yet another fortysomething minutes of drones and noises. Total duration is 1 hour and 7 minutes.

As the stone falls it won’t come up again” was my last effort in making lush ambient techno and IDM like structures. After this release I turned completely into drone and soundscape music.
Though, because of the nature of this piece at that time it gained quite some attention. With over 2000 downloads from the website I had at that time and another 900 (and a bit) from Archive.org it can be said to be really popular considering it never got any affiliation with a record label.

Due to this popularity at that time I thought it was time to re-upload it here in higher quality. You can now get it in various formats including mp3 and FLAC

The file is completely free for download, though I would really appreciate a donation if you really enjoy the release.
You can decide for yourself what your price will be, if you do not want to pay just mark the box with 0 (but don’t forget to fill in your name).

In the extra files you can find the original artwork to download, so do not forget to this. With this you can burn it to a CD-R and make it a nice looking package in your collection.

Happy New Year

A new year has started and I thought it was about time to update this site a bit. The other one got old and boring and not as easy to update.

So here it is, the new and improved Orphax website.

There is about the same information as on the previous one, but all worked out better (at least I think so).

In the future more information will be added and probably some more pages (there on top).
